2. Purpose of this site

The Vet Bioscientist provides information and professional services relating to companion animal nutrition, animal health science and evidence-based animal wellbeing.

General website and social-media content is educational and informational. It is not individual veterinary advice and should not be treated as a diagnosis or treatment plan for an individual animal.

3. Professional status

The Vet Bioscientist is operated by Shay Kuehlmann, BSc (Hons) Veterinary Bioscience, Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr), Association for Nutrition registration number 49005, and Associate Member of the Royal Society of Biology (AMRSB).

The title The Vet Bioscientist refers to veterinary bioscience as an academic and scientific discipline. It does not represent that Shay Kuehlmann is a veterinary surgeon.

The Vet Bioscientist is not a veterinary practice and does not provide veterinary diagnosis, veterinary treatment or prescription veterinary services.

4. Nutrition services and veterinary care

Nutrition consultancy is nutritional and educational in nature and does not replace the services of a veterinary surgeon.

We do not diagnose disease, provide veterinary diagnoses, prescribe veterinary medicines, alter veterinary prescriptions, advise clients to discontinue prescribed veterinary treatment or perform veterinary procedures.

Where an animal has a diagnosed health condition, is receiving veterinary treatment or develops signs of illness, veterinary involvement may be required before or alongside nutritional changes.

5. Emergencies and illness

The Vet Bioscientist does not provide an emergency veterinary service. If an animal is acutely unwell, deteriorating, injured or you believe there may be an emergency, contact a veterinary surgeon or emergency veterinary provider promptly.

6. Individual recommendations

Individual nutrition recommendations are based on the information available to us at the time of assessment. Clients are responsible for providing information that is complete and accurate to the best of their knowledge.

Animals respond differently to dietary interventions. No particular clinical, behavioural, nutritional or other outcome can be guaranteed.

7. Scientific and educational content

We aim to communicate animal nutrition and health science accurately and responsibly. Scientific evidence changes over time, and content may subsequently be superseded by new research, regulatory guidance or professional consensus.

8. No veterinary-client-patient relationship

Viewing this website, following The Vet Bioscientist on social media, sending an enquiry or reading educational content does not establish a veterinary-client-patient relationship.

9. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, original material on this website, including written content, educational material, graphics, branding, logos, photographs owned by us, research summaries, consultation resources, downloadable materials, original frameworks and presentation materials, is owned by or licensed to The Vet Bioscientist and is protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

Material may not be copied, reproduced, republished, sold, commercially exploited, modified or presented as another person’s work without permission, except where permitted by law.
